The Sun Theatre was opened in 1913 as the Victoria, a playhouse that featured productions done in German. Unfortunately for the Victoria, WWI occurred and it was closed because of anti-German sentiment. The theater would later change functions several times. It would be a burlesque house, a church, a jazz club and a movie theater. All were short lived and would leave the building vacant.

Today, after an extensive renovation which has brought it back to its former glory, it now serves as a function venue. The Theatre consists of a 2,000-sq. ft. stage with theatre-style seating that will accomodate a maximum of 607 guests. This venue is perfect for performances or presentations, or to hold a wedding ceremony and a cocktail reception or seated dinner. The Sun Theatre also has other rooms that can host a reception, performance or presentation. See website for more information.
