The Black Repertory Company produces contemporary works, dramas, comedies, and musicals by mainly African American playwrights which "strive to heighten the social and cultural awareness of its audience". The company also has educational and community programs for adults and youth, such as the Teen Tech Program and the Professional Internship Program.
The main stage for the Black Rep is the Grandel Theatre in the Grand Center district. The Black Rep also performs at two other venues in the St. Louis area, the Edison Theatre at Washington University and Orthwein Theatre at MICDS. Show times and location for each performance will vary.
